Materials Needed:

- Two pieces of colored felt
- Publix aluminum pie/cake tin
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Glue
- Plastic string
- Letter beads
- Bells
- Masking tape
- Pom-poms

Step 1
Center the tin on top of a piece of felt, bottom-side down.

Step 2
Trace the bottom of the tin, making a circle.

Step 3
Cut out the circle tracing from the felt and glue it to the bottom of the tin.

Step 4
Using the other piece of felt, draw your child's initial in block letters.

Step 5
Cut out the letter and glue to the center of the tin.
Cutting out complex shapes is a challenging fine motor task for four-and five-year-olds.

Step 6
Cut a piece of plastic string long enough to fit around the tin.

Step 7
Thread letter beads and bells on string. Children can use the letter beads to spell family members' names.

Step 8
Tape ends of string to tin with masking tape.

Step 9
Add pom-poms to tin for embellishment.

Step 10
Use the tambourine during fun, musical playtime.
